Albowicz-A Deceptive Cover

As we all now know, the October Revolution was a revolution in order to overthrow the new PRovisional Government. The Provisional Government was the first attempt to satisfy the people after the tsarist government crumbled down. At this point, the people are already rather agitated from all the chaos of the February Revolution and are on the verge of impatience. They had been promised by Tsar Nicholas II many rights including democratic ideals and more civil liberites, which were pretty much denied. (2) So, the Russians are sick of hearing promises that then end up being rejected.
The Provisional Government stepped in and basically said "We're going to give you the freedom of speech, press and strikes, and everything else that the Tsar faild to give." They had the ideals of a Utopia. (2) The people were again hearing great things that they thought would really make them happy. But, Vladimir Lenin came in from exile as the country was undergoing unrest and told the people everything they didn't want to hear. He urged them into a state of greed, questioning the Provisional Government because these great new policies weren't happening fast enough. (2) In his April Theses he plans on the "exposure of the utter falsity of all its [Provisional Government's] promises." (4) That's where Lenin jumped in even further, with his backing group, the Bolsheviks.
Lenin knew the way he thought the country NEEDED to be run. He was against democratic processes because he felt "It is senseless to wait for the Constituent Assembly which will obviously not be on our side, for this will only make our task more complicated." (3) He knew what he wanted to do, it was just a matter of actually doing it. He managed to get on the good side of the people with his April Theses. In it, he promised things like taking land from the rich and giving to the poor, in order to ensure an equality of citizens. (4) Another thing he told the citizens that they wanted to hear was his plan to pull Russia out of the war, which the Provisional Government refused to do. (2) He was going to merge the banks and even try ot rebuild the International and change the political party tasks to more a efficient attitude. (4) This got the people on Lenin's side enough to get him into power.
But, once he was in power he came down with an iron fist. He became a strong-armed dictator using terrifying methods. He created the Cheka which was an undercover secret police designed to catch unsuspecting citizens of such terrible crimes as to disagree with him.He even wanted to install the death penalty for those speaking against him because they were "deemed to be the overthrow of the Communist system." (3) He took away civil liberties and even installed concentration camps. (3) It was obvious that he "damned anyone who questioned an assumption". (3) He became a truly terrifying dictator with a strong-armed rule.
The way I see it, the October Revolution itself was caused by the people's desires. These desires were just urged by an extremist group. The outcome of the revolution, however, became the rule of that same extremist group using such strong-armed tactics to rule. I believe the "desires of the people" was just a deceptive cover used by the extremist group to seize power. But, the strong-armed tactics did not come until AFTEr his power was gained, even if it was gained in a deceptive manor.
