Starr- POWER IS THE KEY TO STUPIDITY!

The October Revolution was what the people wanted, however, some of the methods were lead to think that Lenin wanted otherwise (just to gain power). When honestly, all along, Lenin just had a sneaky way of going about achieving his power.
His plan is as follows:
-Return
-Gain power
-Get people to side with him
-Maintain power!!!!
Lenin returned to Russia to gain power, later writing the April Thesis. A layout of ways for the Soviets to take control of the state. He planned to give the Soviets control of land, money, agriculture, social production, distribution of goods, and recognition of their party. The Soviets wanted that power.
Lenin also sought to end the war with Germany, also putting an end to capitalism, the problem of all problems.
Lenin had all of the right motives at the time, the motives to satisfy the people and still have power. In order to assure that everything worked in his favor and for the country, Lenin used the Chekad, concentration camps, and conscription. He had his support of the people by promising a brighter future.
Dictatorship of the people is where it all went wrong. In Russia, during elections, there was a promise for ALL of the voices to be heard and threatening to change leadership. Lenin believed that because of it's large mass, that it would take too much time to collect votes. Lenin stated "It would be naive to wait for a "formal" majority. He added that "no revolution ever waits for that." History will not forgive us if we do not take power now. He cursed comrades who wanted democratic process to take it's course as "miserable traitors" suffering "constitutional illusions" (3)
Evaluating, Lenin's many methods to maintain power were mischievous and it's clear in the end that Lenin sought to get the people's support for THE POWER HE WANTED ALL ALONG. He took advantage of the political instability in Russia as an opportunity to seize power. Lenin's overall plan was "Imma give these people a taste of what they could have. But naw! I ain't gonna make it all the way fair! These votes are gonna work in MY favor and I'll have the people AND the power! MWAHAHAHA!"
Limited votes equals limited power for the Soviets. If it was not about Lenin maintaining power, he would have let the votes be counted in the amount of time it takes and give the Soviets the power that he proposed. When you ask for something that you know your parent won't go for, you make it work as if it's in their favor, when really it's all for you. This is exactly what Lenin did. If he was concerned about the instability in Russia, he would have thought more in depth about the radical change that he was making. Who gives the people ALL of the power and stops it when time to vote? Someone who clearly wasn't thinking logically in the first place, and someone who is seeking what's best for themselves. In the end, the people wanted the power from the October Revolution, but Lenin's greed for power made it impossible.

  1. Dashia this is so true!!!! Lenins main aim was POWER!!! He was a pure selfish man I tell you! Lenin was furious if anyone ever disagreed with him, he actually have private police that as he claimed that, "Urgent measures are needed to fight the counterrevolutionaries." (source 3) Like really, these people were punished just for simply disagreeing with the dictator. Lenin definitely used his propaganda to boost the citizens of Russia's head up to vote him to the throne. If Lenin would have originally proposed this idea to the people, then he would have never came into power. But at first Lenin made everything seem as if he was all for the people providing them with, "Peace, Land, and Bread." (source 3)Little did the people know that they were in for a life full of terror, as they couldn't even disagree with Lenin, and the concentration camps were formed for those that did disagree. Lenin was oh so nice and jolly at first just to seize power, then he later transformed into the pre-planned villain that he originally was.

  2. Forgive me for this, but I honestly don't even see a central idea to this post. So, the first statement is "The October Revolution was what the people wanted, however, some of the methods were lead to think that Lenin wanted otherwise (just to gain power)." And then you only talk about Lenin in the entire post. THEN, you concluded with " In the end, the people wanted the power from the October Revolution, but Lenin's greed for power made it impossible. " Could you possibly give more detail about what the people actually wanted. There was like one sentence saying that. It may help for you to tell HOW you knew they wanted power. Maybe the fact that soldiers were abandoning their country in the middle of war. (3) Or even that one of the army officials marched to the capitol in a planned mutiny. (3) Lenin wasn't the only violent or active one. The people made their thoughts known. But, if the people wanted to vote, that means they wanted some form of power. So, it is unfair to say that Lenin was the bad guy because he did what he needed to gain power.

And just saying, if you're going to say "Power is the key to the stupidity" you're basically saying every president, every army official, every ANYONE wanting some form of power is stupid. It just didn't seem like the best word choice. He did what he thought (and obviously it worked) he needed to to gain power. Don't knock it 'til you try it. ;)
