The Weimar Government has pushed it to the limit!! I don’t know if I can do it!!! Really I am going insane!! How do we lose the faith that we once had in our war strategy and army? Whatever happened to our gigantic ego? It went downhill! We still had the chance to win, or at least we wouldn’t have gone out like losers! But yet we failed, we got ourselves into something that we struggled to fight our way through, so we dropped out. I can’t believe the government! “We signed..excuse me the "Weimar Government" signed the treaty of Versailles that reduced our military, we were guilty for the cause of the war, we had to give up a lot of land, and on top of that mess we had to pay 33 billion dollars in war repairs.” (Belk’s Notes) This is hideous, how could you give up and take all of this responsibility?
First let’s start off by discussing the war debt that we have gotten ourselves into. “By 1919 Germany’s internal finances were in a parlous state, largely because she had financed the war effort through short term loans and by inflating the currency in the firm expectation that her enemies would pay the cost.” (Source 1) Really people, we are in war debt all because we gave in too soon, we had the chance, but we didn’t take it…so now we are suffering. We are in major debt; this major debt will lead to larger issues such as the unstable economy that we are currently facing. All of this could have been avoided if we would have strived to the finish and defeated our enemies and put the debt all on them…HAHAHA
Second, we must discuss the most important loss. “We lost our land and territory due to our treaty agreement!” (Belk’s Notes) Think about it, it was once ours and now our enemies have it in their possession. What we hoped to gain we actually lost. We have allowed our territory to become smaller and enlarged the territory of our enemies. If you think about it this all ties to us GIVING UP. Within the Treaty of Versailles we even agreed to give up land. We simply went out like losers! Land is something that you cherish and never give away! Land isn’t free. The land that we basically gave away was very beneficial to us. Land provided us with homes where many Germans once resided and good fertile land to feed our people. Land is a very essential part of life, and we gave it away! We have issues!
Third, really? Did we really agree to decrease the size of our army? We were fools for decreasing the size of our army. We must be prepared for war at any given moment. It was simply a bad idea. Although citizens were getting hurt, we were fighting for a reason, and true citizens fight willing to die for their country. The enemies love to see us with a smaller army so that they could run over us and make an attempt at defeat. So what are we going to do about the “millions of soldiers that have returned home to find no jobs available?” (Belk’s Notes) How do you expect these men to provide for themselves and their family? Employment is crucial in a time like this, the government isn't much help at this point because we are also in debt. The unemployment rate has greatly increased, which also contributed to the instability of our economy. I am now speechless, this is enough!!! No further elaboration is needed! We the "Weimar Government" need HELP!
