Mallard-Glass Half Full

Waking up is not the greatest any more. You have to look toward the positives to make it through these days but lately the positives are becoming more and more faint. The Weimar Government is lacking in every aspect. Lacking in production and providing the resources that are necessary to continue day to day life. When you go to the store and can no longer buy milk this becomes a problem, but it becomes even more a problem when you try to buy such a simple product as milk every day for a month with the only few coins you have left and yet everyday there is no milk. It used to be that I worried about my fellow citizens, my neighbors, classmates and even my own family because they are fighting a war with so many casualties (source 2), but now I struggle with worrying about my own well being due to lack of resources because any day now starvation is a possibility. Not to mention that the Government gave up our most fertile land to the enemy (source 2). It infuriates me that the government signed this ridiculous treaty that takes away so much of our well being. This treaty even takes away our money, not we have much of that let anyway (source2), not to mention the little we do have is not even worth anything (source 1). Due to the lack of financial structure in the first place because the government decided to pay for the war effort with short term loans, we are in no way shape or form going to be able to make up any debt that is forced upon us (source 1). With the lack of jobs (source 2) the out look to improve our lack of resources (food or money) is nonexistent. We cannot pay our taxes without a job, thus these $33 billion war respirations are implausible (source 2). We are not the only guilty ones, just because our government is not the strongest that does not mean we get to take on the ‘War Guilt Clause’ (source 2). Due to our government signing this treaty, I do not feel they have our best interest in mind. The Government cannot even put down a revolt. Our so called government had to call in back-up. When the threat of The Spartacists creating a coup, our government had to bring in the Freikorps in order to put them down (source 2). This just make me livid because obviously even though the government is not doing the best, they do not deserve to get another war started from within. We need our troop to be at the front in order to protect us, because we can only have 100,000 soldiers, they cannot leave the front lines in order to come to put down a revolt (source 2). I mean let’s cut them some slack; they did come to power with less than nothing. The Weimar Government is not even given a chance to face the problems they are faced with. Yes these problems do not seem to have any answers but obviously we have to overcome them or we will seize to exist (source 2). We lack the support from without let’s not weaken our foundation by lacking support from within. We cannot trade like before and we are at the mercy of the other countries (source 1). This is just not the best of times and if not given the chance, the government is not going to be able to make it any better. There are not many positives but the negatives do not need to be so apparent. Let’s find some support!
