I have some questions for the government myself. If Germany was in such bad condition after WWI and you guys KNEW this, why is it that you agreed to the Treaty of Versailles, which makes an even bigger mess out of our economy because we are working with Allies just to pay 33 billion in debt. Why pay for ALL of something that you didn't do all by yourself? If Germany was going to pay for these reparations, they should have made an agreement to not pay as much, so they could have some sort of chance to repair their economy. Working with the Allies will help us, this is true. But not as much as if we had more power and were able to make money for the reparations ourselves. The government did not think what loss of jobs what do to the citizens and the economy. But of course, the government has jobs! THEY DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THIS, it's the citizens who have to fend for themselves. The government is not giving any support, but only making things worse. If the government would have agreed to still have SOME land, they could do 1 of 2 things. Sale the land for profit. Or keep the land for citizens to have and maybe use for agricultural purposes. This lovely treaty that this government has signed has done nothing but harm the citizens, the government politically, the economy, and our trust and belief that the government will do what is best for the citizens. I give the government's actions a 0 out of 5. When doing this, there wasn't an attempt to even TRY to think about us (the people) who have to live with these conditions. With the looks of things, we will all be unemployed for a while until someone comes in, we rule out Ebert and get some structure in Germany.

Starr, this dar gon "government"
You know what gets me? This WILHEIM GOVERNMENT!!!! Kaiser and Friedrich Ebert think that they know what's best for Germany, when really they have no EARTHLY IDEA WHAT THE HECK THEY'RE DOING.
Let me tell you where I stand. My husband was one of the many who died in WWI. I have been left to raise my 2 children, ages 3 and 6, all by myself because I don't have any family here. Now this dar gon governmnent. Even if he were here, he would come home and be jobless. None of the families have jobs. The economy is in a pot hole. Then the government had the nerve to come to agreement with this Treaty of Versailles. ALLLLLL of the land is gone. Germany is in more debt now than ever. I'm talking 33 billion because they agreed to be responsible. Oh, and on top of that, forget about enlisting in the army. It was reduced to 100k! Now, you tell me just how I'm going to support my children.
Politically, they want a democracy. Well maybe that's a good idea because THE PEOPLE have alot to say to this little form of "government" that they call themselves forming. Everyone is affected by WWI. The job I use to have, I don't have anymore because the lady can't afford to pay me, so she does all of her work herself.

So, I'm curious as to where you stand here. You think it's better that the soldiers stay in the war and chance death and horrible memories than to come home to a highly unemployed home (where some still have jobs to come to) and spend time with his family? I do disagree with that. Maybe you're jealous because your husband died but many wives, mothers, and sisters would love to see their soldiers come home.
ReplyDeleteAnd do you really think they had a choice with the Treaty of Versailles? I mean, if France wanted to instigate the War by mobilizing in the first place, do you really think they would have been so gracious as to say "You can sign it if you want. If not, it's no big deal, we'll leave you alone." ??? I really don't think they would have been that easy. They Weimar shouldn't have tried to take control of the direction of this country as fast as they did, but they did try to clean up their own messes too.
Dear Dashia,
ReplyDeleteMy deepest sympathies for your huand being killed in the war. THat sucks so bad for you and your children. I also know how it feels to lose a loved one. My brother, Ian was killed in combat as well. But should we not avenge their death by at least winning the war for them instead of Signing a bullcrap Treaty that places us fully respnsible. Also, the economic situation is just as tragic. If it were not for those WEimar idiots ceasing the war and signing the treaty, then we, THE MIGHTY GERMANY, would be the victorious ones issuing punishment to others.
