Leonard- Rise using the Weimar's failures

Hitler was able to rise to power after World War I because he the current situations in Germany to aid him to power. He used the conditions created by the Weimar government as a way for his Nazi party to rise to power. The Weimar government was a new kind of government for German trying to bring democracy to a country used to dictatorship. When Weimar government faced challenges and did not meet the demands of the people, the people began to look for other options, particular back to the type of government they had before, dictatorship. That was what Hitler and the Nazis offered and the type of government, from the beginning they said they were going to run. Hitler was able to rise to power by using the large number of people who were unhappy with the Weimar government; he offered them a way back to the old way of Germany.
One of the many failures of the Weimar government was their inability to put down coos and protect their borders. The Weimar on their own was unable to put down uprising from the Spartist, an extremist group that opposed the government. They had to call in for outside help from the Freikorps. (Belk Notes) Hitler and his party would later use this call for help as a reason for them to have control of the country and rise to power. They claimed that the Weimar government was weak and with their help they would not have been able to put down the uprising. They stepped in not specifically to help, but as a way of showing the people that they were strong. The Weimar government also did not stop the French and Belgian troops from swooping in and taking the Ruhr Valley as collateral for the money that was still unpaid from World War I. The Ruhr Valley was a very profitable land for German and the government was not able to protect it from being taken. This helped prove Hitler’s point that the Weimar government was not strong: Germany’s search for a strong government lead to the election and rise to power of Hitler. As way of showing how strong they were and they direction they were hoping to lead Germany, they held public arms shows were soldiers marched around in large formations. (2) This method of propaganda showed the Nazis as a strong, protective, and organized party even thought they otherwise might not have actually have been.
After World War I Germany and the Weimar government faced many economic problems. Because of the treaty of Versailles, which they were forced to sign, they had to agree to pay back sum of money to all the Allied powers. (Belk Notes) Because of this they printed off money which caused inflation. The price of common household items skyrocketed and the number of unemployed also increased. (2) The unhappy unemployed looked to the government of the source of the problem and blamed it on their agreeing to the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. Hitler chastised the Weimar government for their signing of the Treaty; they believed that it was the wrong decision. This was the same conclusion that they people came too. Because of their like stance the unhappy unemployed flocked to their party and the rose to power. Through these conditions Hitler was able to employ it his many methods that allowed him to rise to power, and receive it without having to seize it.
