After the many failures of the Weimar Government, Germany’s conditions worsen as the years past. The economy was horrible because of the millions of dollars they owed in war reparations, the unemployment went up and banks began to crash. However, it was these conditions that helped Adolf Hitler come to power. The horrible conditions in Germany after the many failures of the Weimar Government only gave Hitler the perfect opportunity to gain and rise to power.
After WWI, Germany under the Weimar Government openly accepted the Treaty of Versailles, which placed Germany in fault of the war, making them pay for all the war reparations. This placed Germany in serious debt, which basically “jumped-off” all the bad conditions that was soon to take place. Because Germany was placed in debt, they had to find ways to pay off the debt. They used two plans, one at which was the Dawes, where the US was involved. In this plan, America lent money to the Germany Industry and the their government to pay for the reparations. This was a great plan, however once The Great Depression in America took place, everything went downhill. The Dawes Plan was signed in 1924, however the Great Depression took place in 1929.
The Great Depression was the time period when America’s economy went downhill, their banks began to crash and they had to stop making loans with Germany. With this being said, Germany could only stand strong and pay off their debt if America was strong. But, if America’s economy went down, Germany had to suffer also. Therefore, the plan only lasted for about 4 years, and after that, Germany was placed back to where they started, which was in debt with a bad economy. The crash in the economy made the unemployment rates rose to five and a half million people in 1931 and in 1931 five major banks crashed. . Since, nobody was working, families were struggling. And once the banks crashed, peoples money that they had saved was gone. Now although America was a big part in Germany’s economy, they can not be the blame for these conditions. America only signed the Dawes Plan to help Germany, and if the Weimar government would not have agreed to the Treaty of Versailles they would not be in so much debt, surly making the conditions so much better. However, if they would not have signed the Treaty, Germany would of been at risked of getting invaded, which would place them back in the same situations they were in. So a historian can argue that the Weimar Government is not totally in fault of these bad conditions. They can also argue that the Treaty of Versailles was not the “jump-off” of Germany’s conditions going downhill, they can argue that it was The Great Depression. If America’s economy would not have had a crash in the economy and if they would have kept their promises which was made in the Dawes Plan, Germany would have been alright. The economy would have slowly came back to life, possibly changing the unemployment rates and preventing the major banks form closing.
These were the conditions that the Germans had to go through, and these conditions gave Hitler the perfect opportunity to come to power. Hitler saw and learned for the failures of the Weimar Government. He saw that the Weimar Government made promises they could not keep, and the did the most horrible thing which was sign the Treaty of Versailles. He said that signing the Treaty of Versailles was a crime. His use of propaganda helped him to power. His speeches were so powerful that people would instantly support him. He talked about how the signing of the Treaty was a crime and he told them that he was not going to follow in the Weimar Government’s footsteps and make promises. This showed the people honesty, which was another method. The people have been lied to so much by the Weimar Government, that they was overjoyed just by his honesty. Germany conditions was so bad that they had no one else to turn to. Everyone was out of work, there was no money and families was struggling. Hitler knew that this was the perfect opportunity. Once he was appointed into office, he placed people that he knew was a treat to him into Concentration Camps. This method ensure that he could continue to stay in power. One can argue that this method was used not only for him to stay in power, but to also intimidate those who are against him.
These horrible conditions that arose after the failure of the Weimar Government was a terrible time for the German but a excellent time for Hitler. A historian can argue that if Germany was not placed in these horrible condition, Hitler would have not came to power. At least not that easy. It was the horrible conditions in Germany after the many failures of the Weimar Government that gave Hitler the perfect opportunity to gain and rise to power.

A majority of this was retelling the events. You did have a good bit of analysis when it came to the conditions. However the analysis had to deal with whether the depression was not the fault of the Weimar Government. You didn't really answer the question well, and your conclusion doesn't answer the question being asked. Overall, I'd give it a 7.
