Taylor- Hitler's Rise to Power when Germany was at its worse.

The conditions within the country of Germany created a path for Hitler to put his methods in use to eventually rise to power. Germany entering into the 1920s was politically instable and suffering the effects of inflation .During this hardship Hitler saw the perfect time to gain support of the people , by using the method of persuasion and telling of every mistake of the Weimar Government. The Weimar Government was the blame for the hardship Germany due to the bad decisions and unfilled promises(Belk Notes). The effects of this caused uproar and rebillion, finally leading to the power of Hitler.
The political instability of Germany was one of the major and most recognized for Hitlers ability to gain support in such a short amount of time. The Weimar Government in the mind of the people were not able to be trusted anymore, and they were ready for something new. The Weimar Government went from new start to the worst in no time . There were uprisings against them before they had been properly formed(Belk Notes). The Weimar Government went through this hardship because the people of Germany had enough of putting out their trust, and still facing hard times. Once the uprisings became uncontrollable the Weimar Government called on the Freikorp, who secretly seen opportunity to take control of Germany due to the Weimars failure to control their own country. During Germany's instability it was eay for anyone to ease there way into persuading people to support them which was a major method for Hitler. After seeing the chaos in Germany Hitler used the Weimar's mistakes against them in order to make the people believe he could turn things around. For example he made the people believe that his thought process was to form a democracy , when he really used those democratic tatics to create a dictatorship. He did this by telling the people of Weimar's mistakes , yet he focused on that never really explaining his platform .
Next was inflation which left people hungry and the country worthless. The Weimar Government thought that it would be a great idea to print more money than it had in order to pay for war debt . Hitler already hated the fact that the war-guilt clause had been signed and the Treaty of Versai , so he used that to say that Weimar Government chose to sign those in order to put the country in such a hardship. The Weimar Government really had no choice to sign either document they were inforce on them . Hitler made sure that he expressed his thought towards the many mistakes that the Wiemar Government made . The inflation that Germany faced was a mistake of the Weimar Government yet they knew of no more funds to pay $33 billion war debt. Although Hitler saw this as a downfall for Germany he never really told how he would have handled it differently .
The conditions of Germany such as political instability and inflation , gave Hitler a way in to use his methods of persausion and telling every mistake of the Weimar Goverment. Although he did those things he only gained support because Germany was at its weakness, if only the people had a supportive government Hitler would have never gained power. Yet I believe you cant blame it all on the Weimar Goverment because they could not fulfill everyones needs , so although they made mistakes it was only because they were trying to find a solution to Germany's downfall. Hitlers pathway to power was gained through bashing the Weimar Government to gain support for himself, it was a gain of power that never should have been allowed. Now Germany will go from a government who they cant trust to a person who will manipulate and control everything in there lives.

  1. DeAndrea, I think you wrote a great blog post! You clearly understood the question and what needed to be answered. All the evidence you used was relevant and your knowledge of this evidence was adequate. There was a combination of narrative and analysis, but the analysis you presented was good! One especially strong aspect of your post was how you presented the conditions in Germany, then explained how the conditions made the people feel, then explained how Hitler was able to use this to his advantage. You were explicit in this, which makes it easy for the reader to understand exactly how Hitler rose to power according to you. I would give your post an 11!
